<p>I actually heard that Farsi is becoming a popular language to obtain in school...anyone know if there's any truth to this?</p>

<p>Farsi has always had a following but when you say popular I cannot say that I agree. Comparing Chinese/Farsi to say Spanish/French/German/Italian is comparing low numbers to high numbers. As for popular as a plan to participate in the Emerging Market Economies......yes. Certainly there are also folks who study Arabic. Students who have a desire to participate in future world development look for languages that will enhance their opportunity to do so.</p>
<p>I think more people should study latin ;)</p>
<p>Well for me so far it is 7 years[Latin]....I have heard that many kids in middle and HS right now are doing just what you suggest.</p>
