HC App: How to get Corrections to HS Record?

DS is getting ready to work on the Honors College Application and found that the information in the “High School Record” section is incorrect for Class Rank. It’s off by a significant factor…

Does anyone know who to contact to get this corrected?? There’s no way the rank shown was even on the transcript.

Also, does anyone know if the unweighted or weighted GPA should be showing on the High School Record section, or if the person to contact for the correction will know?

TIA!

We will call admissions to ask. Suppose that would be the most obvious answer. Just make sure your students review the information stored on their profile. If placement, program acceptance or scholarships depend on gpa or test scores or rank, make sure the data input is correct!! Just because the forms were received by a school doesn’t mean the data will be transcribed/input correctly. The kids have responsibility for confirming the correct data is showing. Hopefully admissions says it’s a quick fix.

I would check with your HS first to see if they sent the correct info.

High school needs to send the correction.

If your son is only applying to the HC, then it won’t matter. If your son is applying to any of the competitive Honors (CBH or UFE), it might matter.

The transcript says:
Rank
Rank Percentile
Class Size

They (UA) picked off the 99percentile instead of the class rank of 1. It’s most definitely an input error. Why the percentile is shown is a different issue.

Yes, he has his sights set on UFE and STEP to MBA.

Still admissions?

Nice and easy! For the class rank, the Admissions officer was able to pull up transcript and compare to what had been input to myBama and make (or request) the correction. Roll tide!

On the other hand, the GPA showing as un-weighted is due to our school using a 5.0 scale. In order for the unweighted mark to be reflected in myBama’s “High School Record” section, the school counselor or registrar needs to resend a transcript with the 4.0 scale conversion written or noted and then resubmit by mail or Parchment – the admissions group does not do the conversion. Hope that helps anyone who has a non-4.0 scale on their transcripts and is reading this thread.

Thank you for the feedback above!!!
