health care/student loan debacle.

So, with the passage of the new "health care" bill and its add-on that monies for student loans must pass through the federal government, is anyone else worried about loans for students at colleges like Hillsdale?

I was just wondering how awful it must be for Christian Scientists attending schools like Hillsdale and Grove City in the coming years.

I’m sure Hillsdale will figure it out.

Remember this excerpt from Mark Steyn’s speech at Hillsdale last year:

[Hillsdale College - Imprimis Issue](<a href=“404 Not Found - Hillsdale College”>404 Not Found - Hillsdale College)

My worry is that citibank and others who have offered loans to Hillsdale students and their families for years will no longer be an available source for those funds. Perhaps Hillsdale will be able to expand their Independence and Supplemental loans at low interest rates to students.

On the health care side, do you think we can get a religious exemption from the “required” health insurance? We opted out of all the innoculations, etc. which were required in schools and by the state with a religious exemption. I am hoping to have the same thing available for “health care” (which is more aptly named “freedom grab.”).

has Hillsdale released any statement on this?

As infuriating and scary as the passage of the bill last week was, it’s by no means a done deal. If conservatives can manage to win the House next fall (doable) and take or come close to taking the Senate (possible) we can start to chip away at this monstrosity. Remember In November!
