Are there plenty of healthy, non-processed foods to choose from? Salads, fruits, lean meats? I figure we are talking about NYU students, so there must be such foods.

Upstein has a decent salad bar. Actually i think all the dining halls have a salad bar, but Upstein's is the best. There are also fruits at every dining hall...bananas, apples, oranges, etc that people just take up to their rooms for later.

i have a question about Starbucks....can we use a meal there? or only dining dollars? For instance, can we get a danish and a coffee or something to that effect and charge it as a meal or only use our declining dollars? I assume the latter, but it's worth asking....

Oh yeah, the "meal exchange"...if you wanted to, could you use all your meals on meal exchange at one of the restaurants? And if so, are there any healthy restaurants?

You can only use dining dollars at starbucks, not a meal (why would you want to anyway...one meal comes out to $8-$9, not worth a danish and coffee if you ask me!) and this goes the same for dunkin' donuts.

duobeef i don't know what restaurants you're talking about. You can only use the meal plan at nyu dining halls. Unless you mean the meal exchange options at upstein? (Chick-fil-A, Quizno's, Salad bar, etc)

Yeah nirvana I wasn't sure exactly what chains there are. I know you can use your meals and those places, but what other places are there?

I didn't know they had Chick-fil-A's up north...yummmm.

What about vegetarian/vegan food?

I personally don't feel like the dining hall food is as bad as people say it is. So it's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it's certainly decent. I've been eating it for a week, and I feel fine. :D

Vegetarians won't have much of a problem, but I think that vegans might. However, since I'm not a vegan, I can't vouch for how many options are animal-product free. The dining halls all have nutritional information about everything they serve, so you should be able to look it up.

What do you mean by "meal exchange"? I mean....if u get a meal at Upstein's Quizno's.....a meal is deducted correct?

correct...a quizno's "meal exchange" includes a sandwich, medium drink, and chips or fruit.

the real question is..

what size sandwich

the quizno's "regular" size. That's like 8 inches or so?
