Hearing their decision (rd)

eagles14000 - I’m paying myself as well. Any way you could get some outside scholarships? That’s what I did. They really do add up.

I have some local ones but they are only a couple hundred bucks but ill look into it for sure! Btw goodluck with Brown im waiting on them and Vassar

Thanks, eagles, to you too! (:

My son got in. His basic stats:

GPA: 95/100 (our school doesn’t use a 4.0 scale and it also doesn’t weight)
SATI: 1440/1600, 2240/2400 - sent
SATII: 800 US History, 720 English Lit - sent
ACT: 31 - did not send
ECs include: cello, Boy Scouts, part-time job and a couple of academic clubs. He is also a member of a couple of honor societies (e.g. Tri-M, French Honor Society, NHS)
I assume his recs were all good - he waived the right to read them.
He’s a strong writer so I believe his personal essays were well done.

He will probably double-major in History and English. He was accepted into the Scholar program and like others have mentioned, Union was very generous with aid.

This whole process has been a rollercoaster ride and I’m thankful that it is coming to an end. Now we’re just waiting on Williams (it will be a miracle if he gets in there!). He was also accepted at Providence, SUNY Geneseo, Hillsdale, John Carroll University and St. Bonaventure. I have to say that the private schools have been very generous with aid.

Congratulations to all those who got in and good luck to those waiting to hear from other schools. As I tell my son, it will all work out the way it is supposed to.

S also accepted with a nice scholarship. Finally done hearing from all - now comes the hard part of trying to decide. We’ll have to spend a few bucks traveling to accepted student days now. Any one going to the Union 4/15 day?

Momofreds - I have a S who is a sophomore in the honors program - English major at Providence. PM me if you need any insight/info there.

MEsearch. My son will be doing the overnight stay on the 14th and then the Open House on the 15th. I think the overnight will really give him a sense of what Union is like and make his decision easier. Union is top choice at this point.

Accepted. International student.

MACLASS2013 - We’ll see you there! Making a long weekend of it with Union and then RPI on Monday.

What a wonderful outcome for your son, BTMell! Hope he continues to overcome all of life’s obstacles while at Union. Thanks for sharing.

Accepted as a transfer!!! This is unreal!

Congratulations gregmac!!! I’ve also applied as a transfer but for the fall term. Could you check my thread and see if I stand any chances? Thank you and congratulations again!!!

I’ve just checked my application status and was surprised to have my decision already posted! I was rejected! I was kinda’ expecting that because of my EFC of 0. Good luck to those still waiting for a decision!

I’ve also applied to Trinity College (CT). Do you guys think I should keep my hopes up or it is the end of the line for me? Thanks!

anyone, please?
