Heavily female schools w/ great science, seeking males

TSDad,

I agree with your comments about Duke. Our neighbor's son who will be a junior at Duke is completely different from anything I've heard about Duke on the news. He has great friends at Duke and their behavior is as different from the news reports as night and day. I also admire the character it took to stand up for Duke since you are a Tarheel, but ...

The fact is that Duke is going to have repercussions from this episode. Part of the consequences will be to lose applicants who like Duke but aren't in love with Duke and thus are not willing to overlook or discount recent events. As with all things, this too shall pass and I think Duke will remain a top college in the long-term. However, I also think that Duke's rankings and applications will suffer in the short-term.

How about Kenyon? It was a tradional all-male college that is getting more and more female applicants than male.
It also has a very strong science department.

For a school that is looking for males, one cannot overlook Wells College. As for science classes, it has an agreement with Cornell whereby students can take just about any class offered at Cornell.

lol, friendly and case in the same sentence... never heard that one before. But as far as LACs go... DePauw has an amazing science program and amazing merit aid
