hello pitt applicants!

when do we get to know if we got the Chancellor's?

jammin: definitely call admissions and let them know you believe you have the credentials for scholarship application, but that you did not get one yet. Don't wait.

is anyone going into pre-pharm program?also...um..i got the room&board package and i'm not sure which building i should live in..omg..everyone sounds soooo smart...you all got awesome sat scores and all that.....dang...~i willl be the stupidest freshman when i get thurr

No, but I graduated from pharmacy school at Pitt, and it was a very good program at that time. Some kids lived in the quad by the bookstore, some in the towers in single rooms, and some in Lothrop Hall. Lothrop is closer to the Pharmacy classes, but the towers and quad are closer to the pre-pharmacy classes. Later, if you get an apartment, look in south oakland for convenience. Unless things have changed, the students all helped eachother out, had study groups, etc. There was no backstabbing because whether you graduate and pass your licensure exam is independent of how everyone else in your class does. I really enjoyed it.

do you recommend for me to live in a single room? i mean..i would like to live with someone like me..but i kinda have trust issues.....

I think that most pharmacy students tended to room with other pharmacy students, especially after the first year. You will study alot, and it'll be easier if your roommate is studying, too. Also, it is nice to have somebody to compare notes with. We held larger study groups in the library. I wonder if you could request to room with another prepharm/premed/predent major? I'm not sure, but it might be kind of difficult to get a single room, anyway. Also, I think the singles were only in the Towers dorms. Most colleges have you fill out a personality profile form to try to match you up with a roommate with similar living habits (noise, hours, visitors, etc). That might help!
PS- Don't take anything irreplacably valuable to school with you!

so has anyone gotten an interview for chancellor's yet?

no and i think i deserve to be...; )

No, but has anybody gotten a chancellor rejection yet? Maybe they are just reading all of those great essays!

i emailed them and asked if i could consider myself rejected since i hadnt heard anything, and htey said to consier myself in the running til i hear somethhing

i have not gotten anything yet either fro the Chancellors...I dont think I will make it....my essays are the best I have ever written, but I am sure that my best is somebody's worst.........oh well, I tried..

Nobody have an interview yet? I heard they are planning to do about 100 of them.

I wonder if they're waiting for their guaranteed programs to accept people before they interview potential candidates

I think the chancellors and guarantee don't work hand in hand because the chancellor interviews had begun a long time ago. Otherwise it would be bad for the rest of us who would have to wait for those people.

dang..i didn't even get nominated for the chancellors..

pittpnther87,
Congrats! I guess you are going to Pitt, judging from your screen name. What did you write your essay about (if you remember)?

my personal was about my work with extracurriculars and how they affected me. my topical was the one where it asked for a strongly held belief and then asked you to refute it. i did embryonic stem cell research.
