<p>I'm reviewing for a test on acids and bases, and there is a difference in my books.
In my textbook, it says the equation for Ka= [H30+][Base]/[Acid]
it also says when finding pH, you do -log[H30+]
it constantly says hydronium ions throughout the chapter</p>
<p>while my PR AP chem book says the equation for Ka= [H+][B-]/[HB]
and pH=-log[H+]</p>
<p>so why does one use Hydrogen ions for everything, while the other uses hydronium?</p>
