Help! Can I get into good graduate engineering (chemical) schools with these stats?

I just presented my GRE today and got the following scores: V161 Q164. My GPA is about 3.6 at an average American undergrad school (but not in the US) and I did a research internship (2 months, unpaid) at Queen’s University in Belfast. I am trying to get letters of rec. and to write a SOP.

I was wondering if I could get into more than average masters programs in chemical engineering with these stats. Could anyone suggest some appropriate university to look into? The deadlines are coming very soon and I have no idea what to aim for…

Any input would be great!

You should be able to get into a good MS program. If you are more interested in a professional (non-research) program, then the chances go even higher. Expect to self-fund your degree in both cases.

As for recommendations, that is hard to say. There are so many options and you need to do a bit of homework yourself about what kind of program you want. You might try looking at http://phds.org to get an idea of which schools have Ph.D. programs in Chemical Engineering and go from there to see what kinds of MS programs and MEng programs they offer. You can equally well start with other rankings but remembering that rankings are not the end-all when choosing a program. You probably want to see whether a specific specialization is available too.
