I would like to go to college somewhere in California, with active city life (good night life) but also a great pre med program which is the most important aspect. I want a college in California that isnt TOO competitive, but i want the school to teach well so my MCAT score is high as well as maintaining at least a 3.7 GPA. Im a jr in high school, with little above average grades (not a genuis, not an idiot). I will be pursuing psychiatry for medical school. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

^seconding post above. We need hard facts in order to help you.

well… a ‘little above average’ is tough to slot… But - Merced, has your name written all over it.

Did you see the active city life thing? Merced is just about the last place I think of when I picture a happening city.

The Merced students I’ve spoken to suggest there’s plenty of fun to be had on an very near campus but, fair enough, it ain’t a big city. UC Riverside is certainly more urban (and a LOT closer to the beach) but, has much more of a commuter feel. It is also a fair amount more selective. Lots of CSUs might fit the bill as well but, without more data, my magic 8 ball says “keep searching”…
