UNC-CH accepts much fewer kids out of state compared to in-state and UMich is really popular. My advice is to get in applications fast, if you haven't done so already.

The averages for USC are a 4.0 gpa and 1340 SAT. On your stats alone it sounds like you have a good chance, but stats aren't everything to them.

UNC takes 17% from out of state by law. So that works out to very few kids. Hence you gotta have a hook or pretty exceptional stats to get in from out of state. Now if you are in state its different. Also they have a very high % females so its harder if you are female.
So when you are aiming for UNC you are not on a level playing ground as you may be with other colleges as its stacked against you from the start if you are out of state.

Mocha..the 4.3 will not change the vote..sorry (waitlisted D. had 4.6)

BTW on the USC is that 4.0 weighted or unweighted?
