Hello, I am going to be a senior next year and I need help choosing colleges. I live in Northern New Jersey. I would like to stay in the east, nothing bellow NC though. I am still undecided but I am interested in History Education or Environmental Engineering. I would like to go to a small school. (I really liked Washington and Lee.) I play the bass guitar and write music so a college with some semblance of a music scene would be nice. (R&R,Blues,Punk,Ska) I am not a huge drinker or partyer. I don't want some prepped out super school that just churns out degrees. I scored a 690 in math and a 650 in crit. reading on the SAT's. I scored a 690 on the History SAT 2 and a 700 on the Math SAT 2. I scored a 3 on my Ap Gov and Poli test. I scored a 5 on my AP U.S. History. I have a 3.87 GPA and am top 10%. I have visited James Madison University, Washington and Lee, William and Mary, Penn State at Hazelton, and University of Virginia. I am going to visit New Jersey Institute of Technology, Temple, and Penn State at University Park. Thanks!

If you don’t want a “prepped out super school” I would avoid Washington & Lee and UVA.

Jersey, huh?

Okay, let’s go Hobart and William Smith, Muhlenberg, Franklin and Marshall, Union, Lafayette, Roanoke, Allegheny, Stevens, NYU-Poly, and U of Richmond for a reach.

How will you pay for it? Do you need FA?

I’m not saying this solely because I go there, but outside of the size, Temple sounds like a really good fit for you based on your interests.

What about Lehigh? It might be a fit.
