Does anybody know when is the freshmen check in date? I will be going to a foreign country during the summer and need to know the date to buy plane ticket. thx. guys

well, classes begin on sept. 8, so I would assume check in dates are sometime around the 5th

^Yep and you can potentially move-in a week earlier if you’re from out-of-state.

These two know what they are talking about- But I’m sure it says on the BC website so just double check there.

you can always call student services and find out and plus, you can request to move in earlier if you so choose.

There is also a one week mandatory freshman orientation session you need to attend during the summer. This is where you register for classes. The last session, set aside for those that have to travel far, is the week before residence halls open and students stay through to the fall semester. You may be able to get into that one. These schedules and signups come out in the May time frame, I think.

I don’t think they posted the freshman move in dates but it should be in the Sept 2-4 time frame, a few days earlier than the upper class res halls open.

The academic calendar is here [Academic Calendar - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/offices/stserv/academic/current/calendar.html)

Orientation has never been a week long.

Last year orientation lasted for just 2.5 days.

Sorry I embellished, the point I was trying to make for masha is that, if you are traveling the summer, you not only need to be planning to be back for the start of school, but also the orientation session, which some may not realize is mandatory, and has come down to 2-3 days or so.
