So I was wondering if getting a “bad” grade in a foreign language class would hurt my chances for in-state UVA engineering. I got a C+ French 1, B French 2, and a B- in French 3. I took 7 AP Classes by my junior year and am currently taking 4 my senior year. The lowest grade I got on an AP class was a B+ in AP Bio. I got A/A- on all my other classes throughout high school.

One “C” on your transcript will not keep you out, especially if you got it as a freshman.

I don’t think the foreign language grades will hurt you. You can’t be great at every subject. There is not a foreign language requirement at UVA if you are getting a BS in the school of engineering so its not like they have to worry about you being successful in that area at UVA.
