Help Guys! Transfer To CC or Ivy? seriously

<p>In high school I let my dad do the choosing(a mistake obviously, I didn't do
my research and he did, supposedly) anyway I'm at Bard right now and
HATE IT, socially, academically, and geographically, although that last one
was a given. So i'm not sure if i want to save money and stress and transfer
to a CC for the remainder of my first two years(will it look bad transferring
into a CC after having been here and then applying to another Univ to
finish?) or should I wait and apply(for the fall) to Brown
(screenwriting),Barnard,Boston Univ,(film studies),Pratt or Emerson
(screenwriting)? The thing is I thought i would be here for well, awhile so my
classes are **** this semester.(Seminar on enlightenment, 20th Century
Conductors, Problems in Philosophy) i work as well but still, it looks bad. I
mean my GPA won't suffer(I try to get into better classes next semester now that i want to leave) but still it will be hard to get a good
recommendations. My adviser's a flake too, worse than the first before i
changed.</p>

<p>Does anyone know which of those school is the best in that particular field
or maybe the least competitive?</p>

<p>Hey, I'm transferring out of Bard as well. From what I can tell there are quite a few of us who are leaving.</p>

<p>Where to and why?</p>

<p>The whole place is just so stifling; the same people all the time, the academic structure (and the lack of any kind of challenge), the 'trapped' feeling of the campus, the fact that trying to get to an actual city, with ease and when you please, is like trying to schedule a lunch date with Jesus.</p>

<p>I met my advisor once and she spent our meeting trying to convince me that she wasn't my advisor. Then she checked her mail and decided "Huh, guess I am. So, yeah, that was our meeting, good luck."</p>

<p>But I figure I'll just stick it out until May.</p>

<p>I'm applying for the fall 2006 semester to:
Brown
NYU
UPenn
Tufts
Reed
Edinburgh
Glasgow
University College London</p>

<p>It's a tentative list so it's probably going to change.</p>

<p>If you really hate it here, enough that you can't make it through another semester, I'd say do what makes you happiest if that means going to a CC. But, if you think that you can tolerate the spring semester, you would be able to save stress and time by applying to another University now as opposed to having to transfer twice. Personally, I'd suggest trying to wait it out.</p>

<p>I'm just concerned with how underdeveloped my record will look to other universities as of right now. The fact that i'm not close to any of my professors(one of them picks faves and let's just say i'm not even on the backside of that list) and my recs are sure to suffer as well, unlike in high school when i got five really greats recs from teachers, 3 of which had known me all four years, i'm just not sure i'll get accepted anyway and to wait it out and then not get accepted well that would just be so frustrating. What courses are you taking, ec's, have you hit it off with any of your profs?</p>
