Help! I have no idea where I want to go.

Well, I have tried using the "helpful" college search sites like CB but I always narrow it down to two colleges that I'm not too eager to visit or a hundred possible schools to choose from. I would say I'm a bit above average, and I'd like to go to selective school but I just don't have a clue.

(No idea what I want to major in yet, but possibly education or just follow a pre-med track, very different I know.)

About Me:
Entering senior year
SAT: 1990 (one sitting, if that matters) I've only taken it once, will retake this fall.
GPA: 4.4ish (weighted) 3.89ish (unweighted)
Def. top 10% of class, possibly top 5% (not sure)
SAT II's US History 710
Math II 680

(don't know if all this matters but hey, can't hurt to add)
Hispanic
Broke xD
(under 60,000/yr)
single parent

Uh... I'd like to say on the East coast. Preferably around MD but suggest whatever :)
Thanks in advance!

Given your situation I thought I’d steer you towards Questbridge and see if you qualify. Personally I know of many bright students in low-income situations who were matched to great schools through this program. [QuestBridge Home](http://www.questbridge.org/)

also: look into Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, George Washington U, and American U.

You may qualify for merit scholarships at Goucher or Loyola MD

Have you checked out St. Mary’s College of Maryland, the public liberal arts college? It’s not a Catholic girls school, although that’s what it sounds like. It’s a great school in a beautiful location on the Chesapeake.

What is your home state?

Agree with Seahawks506 and happy1. That is a great assortment of reach, match and safety schools all in or close to Maryland. Great list to start with. Visit and see which ones feel like a good fit. Good Luck and keep up the good grades!

Thanks everyone so much! I’ll look into QuestBridge. Sorry for not having replied sooner, I rarely get internet access so I can only post every so often. But still much appreciated! ^-^
