My school has a block schedule meaning it offers 2 semesters of 4 full credit classes, offering a total of 8 credits a year. I'm having a hard time fitting AP classes into my schedule, considering AP classes take up 2 semesters, and could use some advice. I plan on applying to schools along the line of HYPS, as well as other prestigous local schools.

To tell you your chances to the “prestigious schools” you talk about, people need more info like AP test scores and ACT/SAT.

I’d say you have the maximum number or possible APs for your schedule…my school has 6 periods, not 4, so its a bit easier to take tons of classes…

If you could ditch photography and mabye waive the fine arts requirement, that’d be perfect. BTW what the frick is “High School to Life?” ■■■ that ■■■ and put an AP in there. Unless it’s required, then your school absolutely sucks - you don’t need a class to ponder what can do in life.

I’d say self-study an ap or two if you have the time, although with that extra time you’d probably be wanting to study for the SAT/ACT since they are more important and any other AP test…

Thanks for the advice. I’ll look into getting my Fine Arts credit waived. Right now I’m using any extra time to study for the ACT. But since I’m taking it this September I may have time to self-study for an AP afterwards, depending on how I score.
