Help Making a Balanced List!!!

I am a rising senior in high school and have done a lot of research on different colleges and have visited a bunch so far and have narrowed down my list. However, I feel like I need more targets/safeties!
My school doesn’t rank or give gpas but for the most part have straight A’s and my gpa is around a 3.95 UW. I have taken every AP and hardest I can but my school only offers 4 total, because all the classes in my school are considered honors (and I’m not going to submit my AP score bc it sucked.) Have also taken college classes outside school.
I have a 2200 SAT (750 cr, 660 m, 790 w). I have 660s on the subject tests now but am going to retake them this year.
Solid ECs and leadership positions, recs should be good, and writing is my strong suit so I hope my essay & supps will be good.
White girl, good public school in nyc, no hooks…

My list as of now:
Tufts University (applying ED)
Bowdoin College
Georgetown University
Emory University
Brandeis University
American University
SUNY Binghamton
Clark University
UMass Amherst

What are your academic interests? And – to avoid redundancy in forthcoming replies – which colleges have you visited and eliminated?

If you like Bowdoin, how about Bates or Colby?

Are you dependent on financial or merit aid? And if so how much?

Two that would be academic matches for you:

Hamilton: Of smaller, exclusively undergraduate-focused colleges – a desirable category – among the most likely not to feel too small because of the College’s expansive, architecturally interesting campus and notably balanced curriculum. Nationally recognized writing programs, a new science building, an “arts neighborhood” near the center of campus and beautiful views toward an adjacent valley further combine to create an environment that may be difficult to match elsewhere.

Vassar: English major/artsy veneer, recently offset by their investment in an impressive new science building. Beautiful chapel and library. The gender imbalance, though real, does not differ significantly from the national average. A convenient train ride to New York City, though the Hudson Valley also has its attractions. Irrespective of its surface vibe, Vassar is a mainstream college at its core, with a broad curriculum, excellent resources and accomplished students.

@merc81 good point. schools that i have visited and eliminated are lehigh, wesleyan and george washington. have also visited princeton, yale & brown and eliminated not because i didn’t love them but because i know i don’t have a shot there.

and not dependent on financial aid.

oh have also visited and eliminated northeastern and skidmore.

academic interests are psych, journalism, legal studies, sociology… something along those lines.

The schools mentioned thus far would serve your academic needs (Journalism as an undergraduate major is often regarded as superfluous to a journalism career; legal studies has a similar relationship to the practice of law, but can make a fine minor.)

As another suggestion, the University of Rochester is a fine, complete university with a classically arranged campus on the edge of a medium-sized city. UR seems to keep sports in their proper perspective.
