So, I got admitted to both Cornell (CAS) and Brown and its killing me to choose between them.

I plan to major in Molecular Biology and/or Anthropology. How do the biology departments at these schools compare?? Is there a significant difference in the quality of student life and academics at these schools...??
(unlikely..i guess.)
Also, FA isnt much of a issue (I definitely wont go to a school becoz its cheaper) :D

Where would you go if you were me??
(As of now, I am leaning towards Cornell :))

I know posts like this are irritating...but please help me.

If you are leaning towards Cornell, then go to cornell. I think, as many others say, you should go where you feel you belong to or where you are happy

I'll help you if you help me. I'm helping my d decide bet. Cornell, UVa and Tufts for IR/government (@cornell, this will be communication & gov). So, any thoughts, you Cornell experts, since no one has answered my thread?

As for Cornell v Brown: Cornell is a lot bigger, busier as a result. Coursework reputedly very intense (you know what they say, easiest to get into, hardest to get out of). BIG campus, very diverse, colder climate. Ithaca could use the restoration and revitalization that has made providence into a very pretty city.

I think Brown is also a very pretty campus. It's surrounded by colonial homes and turn of the century neighborhoods, a more urban treed setting than Cornell's spread (which also has its natural charm). Probably more significant is Brown's rep as the arty ivy. If you are interested in the visual arts or are socially or politically more liberal you may find the ambiance at Brown more appealing. Just go, take a class, spend some time there, and see which one feels right.

Cornell and Brown are both very good schools. I think that Brown is a good school for those students who "fit" the Brown profile. Cornell is so diverse- academically and socially, that everyone should be able to find his or her niche. If you are leaning towards Cornell, then go there. You will be choosing a great school and undergraduate experience.

Cornell's bio department is really tough. I don't know how they rank, but there has always been a rumor that Cornell has the second toughest bio program in the country, although it is unsubstantiated. I would choose Cornell over Brown, unless you are going into neuroscience. Also, are you premed?

do whats best for u. since brown has no core ar requirements u could, u can have the freedom of making up ur own undergraduate academic experience, or if u like set structure cornell is the place for u. i don't see a bad decision either way i see two great possibilities for u.

Id go to Brown,
but im gonna double major Econ&political science and dont really know about science at Brown.
Brown was my early decision and #1 school to go, but deferred+then rejected ;((

W is in the field. Cornell does world renowned molecular biology research - that doesn't necessarily translate into a much better undergrad education.
