I seem to recall at one time we had a thread that helped people find something to buy for their home (“Where can I get a desk chair that is narrow?” etc)
I’m here to debut the kitchen gadget shopping thread! My very old, much-loved olive oil dispenser was broken over the holidays. I liked it because it was ceramic, with an integrated spout and reservoir where any drips would flow back into the main holder. It had a carved wood dust cover thing.
So…I need to replace my olive oil pourer. I use it all the time in the kitchen so getting out the jug from the store is not practical. My wish list:
Dark, so the oil stays fresh
DRIPLESS - this is the hard part. I have used bottles with the rubber stopper and IME they ALWAYS leak and drip down the side
Easy to fill
I don’t even care how attractive it is, as long as it is functional. I have seen some stainless steel dispensers and I am wondering how they are.

I just use an olive oil bottle that I bought at the grocery store, but the tiny size – it says it’s 16.9 fl oz. It’s dark green, easy to fill from the big bottle, and doesn’t drip. This one:
I’m with the OP. I also want a new olive oil thing. My problem is…I need something that is 9 inches tall…or so…because I keep it in the cabinet next to my stove.
I know I can use a regular bottle…but it’s so easy to just grab this thing and pour!
I use this bottle with dripless pouring spout, from TJ. I keep it at the side of my cooktop and it works great! I just keep refilling it with oil (usually, Kirkland EVO). If it’s a special oil, I do not decant it.
Is that a bottle that originally held TJ’s oil and you keep refilling? That spout looks like the kind I have bought to use in bottles but leaks a bit, but maybe they are not all made alike.
I use an old small Worchesterchire sauce bottle. It has a top that limits how much comes out at a time and does not drip and can be refilled. The bigger bottle of olive oil I keep in the fridge. It’s not fancy but does the job for me.
The pitcher with handle and spout is lovely but a bigger footprint. I also like that this bottle seals with a threaded cap over the dispenser top to keep anything from getting into the oil.
To prevent the oil from decomposing, you need a bottle that is not just dark but also has a good stopper to seal it. Light and oxygen are two things that damage unsaturated fats. I would not use any tea kettle like containers.
The Rachael Ray one gets a ton of good reviews and is attractive. I don’t mind the “real estate” it takes up on the counter because I use it daily and I don’t keep a lot on my counter. This will sit next to my salt pig (wood) and garlic keeper. #italiancook.
I had a stainless steel oil spritzer from Costco. The oil in it seemed to go rancid much faster than my worschestershire bottle of olive oil. I enddd up donating of tossing it.
