HELP ME! I'm so confused about UC APP!

HELP! I have a lot of questions…

The instruction says courses taken in 9th grade is not considered Honors by UC. So, if I took Alg II honors(Alg II trig and precal in a year) in 9th grade…Should I use NH(not honors) or HL(honor)? I’m not a California resident, BTW.

THe instruction says, “Nonresidents: If your high school is not in California, use HL to indicate special courses your school has designated as honors, with the exception of grad 10 English, world history, and algebra I and geometry” Does that mean I don’t have to worry about the UC-approved honors courses list and just put down HL for i.e. Chem I honors?

Is speech considered an English course?

For Regents, Alumni, and other Scholarships, will I be automatically eligible for them, or do I need to submit another app? Also, it says that “All required supporting documentation must be postmarked by the date indicated in the Requirements for Campus SCholarhsips section” but I don’t see any deadline! Is it just 11/30?

Sorry for too many questions, but please help me!

speech is not considered an enlgish course. you may put it under section G.

Alg II honors is no longer considered for the extra grade point, but nevertheless, you can list honors.

Thanks!! :) Does anybody else have the answers for the other two quesitons?

So, if I took Alg II honors(Alg II trig and precal in a year) in 9th grade...Should I use NH(not honors) or HL(honor)? I'm not a California resident, BTW.

I thought you could only put HL if it was approved on the UC list? Or is this only for out-of-state??

i'm an out of stater. i had an english honors class in 9th grade that i labeled NH because i thought they said that 9th grade honors class don't count.

i put HL for the subsequent courses i took that my HS deems as honors. (but just not for 10th grade english, world hist.. etc.)

i don't understand the original question 4. for scholarships, i just selected the criteria that i felt fit me. don't the campuses contact you (at a later date) about that, if you get in?
