Help Me Make a list of colleges

Hi, I am a little undecided about where I want to apply to, and how many schools I should apply to. I am thinking a major in computer science with a pre-med path, and planning on doing research, internships, etc in prep for med school.

I don’t really understand how my school’s GPA system fits in with the norm so I’ll just post my grades.

NYU- High match
U of Rochester- Match

A lot of these schools are liberal arts colleges so you might not get the research you’re looking for and some don’t have comp sci but I wouldn’t recommend comp sci if you truly want to go to med school. Med schools only care about your gpa, MCATS, and ECs. That’s it. They don’t take into account how difficult the school you went to was or how hard your major is. A 3.9 philosophy major would easily get in over a 3.6 comp sci major.

By the way, your uw gpa is a 3.77-3.78 (3.83 freshman, 4.0 sophomore, and 3.5 junior) but why didn’t you include gym? Did you do badly in it or something?

@MegaMetalHead99
I honestly don’t know what I got in terms of A,B,etc, but I got an “H” freshman year, a “P” sophomore year, and an “H” junior year for gym, I think H means Honors, and P means pass. So they would probably only slightly increase by gpa correct? Btw i live in massachusetts

SATs? 1960 or 2020?

Oh my bad, 640 CR, 660 M, 660W, but I am planing on taking it again after studying hard this summer and getting 2000 or even breaking 2100. Realistically, how much better can a 1960 go up in two months?

A parallel OP reported going from a 1980 to a 2160. With focused preparation, a lot is apparently possible.

How much can your family afford? There is no point in compiling a list of colleges before you know your budget. What state are you a resident off? What else are you looking for in a school - and what constraints do you have, if any (re distance from home, etc…)

I’m a resident of MA, and I’m looking for a school with ample research and internship opportunity in preparation for med school, while I pursue a major in computer science. Money is not an issue for the most part for undergrad.
