Hello,
I am an International student applying for transfer to MIT the next fall. They have asked for a collegeboard profile fill-up. One of the questions there asks me about how much I am expecting in aid. I am confused as to what to reply to this question. N e one please............ :)

Well…

What is your situation? How much are your parents willing to spend on your education?

if you say that you need aid (and specify an amount), that doesnt’ mean that’s what you’ll get. Schools determine your real need by looking over all the family finances, income, and assets.

Some schools are “need aware,” so they can’t accept all kids who need aid. Some can’t give aid to int’ls. Some can only give small amounts to int’ls.

What is your situation?

How much you are “expecting in aid” describes how much you expect your parents to contribute to paying for your education.

You’ll need to sit down with you parents and work out exactly how much realistically they are going to spend. Remember that you might need to convert currencies.
