I’m not exactly sure if I which I like better: the tiny community of oxford or the huge energetic Berkeley community. I’m planning to major in environmental science. Even though oxford is more than double the price of Cal, we are able to afford both schools. PLEASE HELP ME DECIDE. I ONLY HAVE A COUPLE DAYS LEFT. Any comments would be appreciated!!!
Oxford:
Pros: people seem warm and friendly, close-nit environment, very small, transfers to emory in 2 yrs, small class sizes, diversity, professors are flexible
Cons: the surrounding area sucks, might be too small for me? far away from home in LA area, 34K per year
UC Berkeley:
Pros: college of natural resources may offer the small college environment with only 1,000 students, Clark Kerr residence hall (if I can get in), #1 environmental science program, closer to home, 16K per year
Cons: extremely large student body, not sure if I’ll be able to distinguish myself to get into a good graduate school, large class sizes
