<p>If you can afford it, I’d choose Grinnell too. Grinnell has extraordinary facilities, small classes where the profs will always know your name, and no distribution requirements. Almost all the students live on campus for all four years (except when doing a semester abroad or in Washington DC - a popular option especially in junior year). The result is a close knit intellectual community.</p>
<p>BU is a good school located in a fun city and they will certainly offer more courses in your area of interest (take a look at the course catalogue) - but because they are a large urban school, I doubt they will provide the same strong sense of community or the close relationships with faculty. And if you decide to do graduate work in the US, Grinnell’s reputation is well known in academia.</p>
<p>One idea: why not contact the admissions office at both schools and see if there are any alums from Thailand whom you could contact to discuss their experiences?</p>
