Help me please, guys.

Hi. I am a junior student in a small public school.

I came to America when I was in 9th grade. I had my education ultil so in my home country, Russia.

First year I came, my counselor put me in Acc Algebra 1, FOUNDTAION LEVEL Bio and Physical Science (I only had physical science for a semester) and ESL. I do not know why she put me in such horrible courses, but at that time I did not know how regor in course is important in coll. admission.

I had my ESL in my soph. year too, but I took honors math classes and no found. classes thankfully... Oh, I took Physics class in my soph. year too, which was the hardest science course in my school.

I took regular english (acc) in my junior year, acc US history, and honors math and science.

I got 5 in AP phyiscs B and 4 in AP stats in my soph. year, and took both AP Physics Cs, AP Calc BC, and AP chem this year and pretty sure got 4 or 5 on both Physics Cs, and 5 on Chem and Calc.

I self-studied all of them. My school does not have any AP courses available...

I am in National hon. society, Math and Science team (I got the highest-scorer award) and one club activity. no sports. I have been doing charity work in hospital every weekend for 8 hours since my soph. year.

My grade has never been under 95, and of course my GPA is 4 so far.

My SAT scores are 700/800/720 (highest section scores) and ACT score is 32 (superscore)
SAT 2 scores are 790 in Math2, 780 in Physics, 790 in Chem.

I really wished to go to MIT or Caltech since I love math and science, but I reallized that were too tough for me, so I decided to apply to colleges have higher acceptance rates such as U Chicago or NYU.

Do you guys think I am a competitive applicant for U chicago, and NYU?

And what other colleges that are speciallized at math and science (especially physics and chem, NOT bio) (It is NOT ENGINEERING!) do you recommend me to apply in my senior year?

I know my thread was freakingly long, and I appreciate if you read this far. Please answer me guys, and I again, appreciate.

I think you’re suitable and have a fighting chance at every university in the country, including MIT & Caltech. Your SAT could be improved, and should be if you want a more secure footing at MIT/Caltech/UChicago, but this is not to say that your SAT score is not good, it’s great. I would like to say that you should get into NYU. But if you want to get into MIT/Caltech/UChicago you should certainly raise your SAT scores IMO, however I’m not trying to stress you out - there’s a lot of focus that you can place into your application. Your essay is EXTREMELY important, most everyone who gets into elite schools have in common that they wrote great essays.

You will get into MIT if you can pay for it.
