<p>Ok so I'm doing Question 2 from the 2008 exam. </p>
<p>(b) Given that the cadmium concentration in the water draining from the landfill is<br>
2.0 g/m3, calculate the mass, in kg, of cadmium that is released into the surrounding
soil per year. </p>
<p>100 m^3 * 0.2 g Cd/m^3 * 1 kg/1000 g= 0.2 kg Cd/year</p>
<p>^That's the work they give on the scoring guidelines. I'm soooo confused...in the second step, wouldn't you use 2.0 g/m^3 and not 0.3 g Cd/m^3? Someone please explain why you don't.</p>
