Also, how much money will your parents spend on your college education each year? If you don’t know, ask them now.

So, assuming that you’ll qualify for some FA, then you need to make sure that you apply to schools that can meet need (no point in applying to schools that will have big gaps or will only include loans in their FA packages.)

Your ACT is higher than your SAT, but that’s fine. Schools will use your ACT :)

You should try for some ivies - do any interest you?

Vandy is also a good choice…it’s in a big city (Nashville and it can meet 100% of need without loans)

To be honest, I’m not really involved with the financial aspect of college…it’s not a determining factor for me, but I know that we get some from NYU(where my sister attends)…

I actually applied ED to Penn (will find out on the 11th) and am looking at Cornell and Columbia. I’m a legacy to Yale but I don’t think that will give me a good shot at getting in anyways so I don’t plan on applying.

Would you recommend sending in my SATs even though my ACT is better?

Cookie606, assuming you aren’t joking, Big Brother/Big Sister of America is the largest youth-mentoring program in the US. It pairs teenagers with younger, at-risk and underprivileged youth in an attempt to provide them the support and help they need to deal with their particular life challenges. It is actually an exceptional EC.
