With its 13,677 islands displayed (like jewels) on an exquisite necklace (suspending) between Asia and Australia, the Republic of Indonesia (remains) one of the most beautiful and (diverse) nations on Earth.

I chose (suspending) and it's correct. I'm just hazy with the correct reason.

Is it because "suspending" is vague as it doesn't refer specifically to the "exquisite necklace", "islands", or the "jewels". It could be the jewels that suspended or the exquisite necklace. However, by replacing "suspending" with "that suspended" we can clearly see the the islands are "suspended".

Also:

Marsha has read every book Jorge Luis Borges (has written), (and she) (considers) no other novels as interesting as his novels.

The answer is no error, but can you explain why present perfect form "has written" is correct instead of simple past "wrote"? is it cause the "Effect" or writing is still present and the writing took place at an unspecified time in the past?
someone correct me if I am wrong :) thankssss
