So I didn’t have a great Freshman year, ended up 147/895 (top 16) with a 3.64 unweighted, 5.02 weighted. I’m really wanting to make top 50 people by Senior year and was wondering if anyone had experience moving up that drastically. I’m in all AP or Pre-AP classes, but would a dual credit be a better choice? I get college and high school credit and it doesn’t factor into GPA. Basically, I’ll take any help I can get here. Thanks!
Top 16%, in case that was unclear, my bad!
You still have plenty of time - a lot can change between freshman and senior year. Freshman year is WAY too soon to worry about this. It didn’t even occur to me to inquire about my rank until senior year (luckily for me I was very pleasantly surprised).
The obvious answer is to get As in all of your classes, that will help. If your school does any weighting (maybe honors or AP classes), try taking those and get As in them. Ask your guidance counselor if any classes at your school are weighted. All of these things will increase your GPA and likely increase your rank. There really are no other ways to improve your rank. It is very straight forward.
