I'm going to take the Sat's one more time before applying so hopefully my scores will be higher by that point. Also, my gpa is lower than I want, but it has gone up each year. Last year (11th grade) it was a 3.75uw.
Don't know if this makes a difference but I'm 25% Native American so can check that, as well as Caucasian, on the college app form. I'm not a member of the tribe, but my father is.
Your opinion? Thank You!!!!

I was going to say take the SAT again, but you already volunteered. After that, you will have a very good shot, especially being Native American. (Do not check off caucasian, just check native american off). I’d say you’ll be a match.

I might just be speaking total rubbish here… but I’m currently taking a college essay/admission prep class this week at a local school, and the teacher said something about if you are more than 1/8th Native American AND can prove it, you don’t need to pay for school, and apparently it’s almost a free ticket to any school, as there is something about being Native American that schools eat up. Again, this may all be total BS and please someone correct me if I’m wrong, but she seemed confident in what she was saying. However, it has to be like a grandparent or someone who is very closely related to you in your family tree who is directly Native American for this whole thing to work out, and you to get that perk.

My grandmother on my fathers side was native American, but I never met her or had any contact with the tribe. I do, however, have dna tests proving I am 25%.

Calm down. Your fine; you will more than likely get into Emory early decision. Just make sure that you can afford Emory financially because ED is binding. Good luck!
