FL Friend, how was Preview Day for you?! I wanted to ask you since we’re both at the edge of our ever-important decisions! Hope you enjoyed yourself at Preview (:

FAU_Guy: Thanks for the insight. From what I’ve also heard and experienced, UF is for a certain “breed,” and I’m not sure I’m cut out for it anyhow.

I really liked it!! I wished there was more of a chance to socialize with other future classmates because my host kinda stuck with me and we didn’t really get the opportunity! But other than that I thought it was really good I liked it a lot! I don’t know if I’ll ever be 100% sure of my choice, but I think I will maybe choose it hahah…What did you think??

Yeah- it would have been nice to see other prospective students…after all, three of them could be potential roommates haha!
I felt really comfortable on campus and could figure my way around, which I enjoyed (:
I’m in the same position as you- I’m ready to just choose it and stop tossing around options in my head; it makes you go crazy.

I know right! I really want to meet who my roommates are, so that would have been nice…I’m glad you liked it! I’m pretty sure that’s where I’m going, but I just like having all the options to decide between, haha :)

I’m set on it, officially (: I finally have a piece of mind and feel good in the choice. Hopefully we’ll meet in person soon!

hey that’s awesome! I mailed my paper in today so I’m set too! It is such a good choice and a perfect fit, so yeah it’s so small we definitely will meet haha : )

*peace of mind, not piece of mind (what was I thinking?)

Woo! Guess we’ll be meeting at orientation Congrats on the decision!

helloimaleks and FLFriend,

Congrats on your choice. I am a big fan of the Wilkes Honors College and the area. It’s small, and you’ll really get to know your profs well.

I agree, you need to consider New College of Florida as well. The stock and national reputation of this school is skyrocketing, and any student (IS or OOS) must/should consider. The Ivies have taken notice, too, since NCF has a good percentage heading there for post-grad studies. They also have the highest per capita of Fulbright scholars. That is impressive for a “small” school.

My daughter went to the Wilkes Honors College for Freshman and Sophomore years. I can’t express enough, the quality of education she had received. Professors were outstanding and bent over backwards with the students. Standards are VERY high at the school. No blow off classes here. Dorms are beautiful and students look out for one another. A very safe campus. My daughter is a Classics major and the College was not able to provide classes for her to complete her major. She was accepted to FSU, UF, UCF and UM as a transfer. She ended up at FSU. Not up to the educational quality as the Honors College, but she is getting a different experience.

wend8610, I am going to be a student at the honors college, too. How easy was it for your daughter to transfer after 2 years? :)
