Lol first time I see a "<3" on CC

haha well ya know i have to show the love...any ideas by any chance? =)

I wouldn't be able to comment, due to the fact that I am really only familiar with schools on the east coast. You'll definitely need to raise that SAT, but I think you'll have to wait till tomorrow to get some more specific advice

Her SAT's aren't that bad. And a lot of UC's/CSU's look more at grades, class rank and other stuff. It's considered, but it's not going to kill her that she didn't get a 2400.

I don't know how much emphasis each of those schools place on SAT but a 1750 is a ways away from a 2400

That's not the point.

Some schools, for instance Cal State Long Beach, don't even LOOK at your SAT scores if your GPA is a 3.0 or above.

I don't understand why everyone here is like "OMG YOU DIDN'T GET A 2400 YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET IN ANWYHERE." That's not how it is at all. At least not in California, I don't know about elsewhere.

That's where we clash. Over here on the east coast, it's almost all about the SAT, especially in florida. I just figured some of the colleges she mentioned might place the same or nearly the same emphasis on the SAT as we do over here.

Ahhh, now it makes more sense. :)

Yeah, they're more lax about it most places here. I'm sure some of them care more than others (for instance, UCLA probably wants a little bit higher than CSULB), but they still tend to place more emphasis on EC's and GPA's and class rank and such.

Yep, it's amazing how different the admissions practices are in different regions

THANK YOU hisgrace! haha yeah welllllll i know im not some crazy like prodigy child and yeah i definitely think i am going to improve if i study so WATCH ME =) personally, going by the saying, I AM NOT A TEST SCORE.

haha, no hostility i promise=)
<33333

lol I never doubted you, I just didn't know where hisgrace was coming from. Good luck though, all your credentials look great

haha thanks vincanity ill try, im jealous your in miami =)

Don't be too jealous, I'm dying to get out to Gainesville. Miami's getting way too populated...not to mention South Beach isn't all its cracked up to be lol

lol LA's not as great as all the movies make it out today. Stabs SoCal traffic/bad drivers

They'll give anyone a license here. Sigh

Um a Miami resident is the last person to complain about driving to. We have the worst drivers in the entire world (no joke, it was voted on). It's atrocious down here, but I'm going to stop myself because I really could go on and on. It just doesn't make for a very good situation when the majority of drivers are newly arrived immigrants driving without insurance. (No offense to immigrants, I'm Cuban...)
