I recently found out that my friend is going to be attending a 5-week summer college at UDel this summer so I did some research on it. She is going to be staying on campus and can take up to 7 credits (so basically two classes). It's the summer between our sophomore and junior year. Unfortunately it is too late for me to apply for it, but I am very interested in it for next summer. I would want to take two courses, Intro to International Relations (which is what I want to major in) and Intro to Communications. My only problem is I am very actively involved in marching band at my school, which practices all summer. Next year I will be going out for a leadership position and will most likely get it (not to sound cocky or anything, it's just I would be the most qualified because I would be the oldest in the section and have been playing the longest and marching the longest etc.) I am afraid though, that if I miss 5 weeks of band my director might not want me to have my leadership position.
So what would be more beneficial for me? Leadership experience or Summer College? I'm really confused at what I should do.

This is all assuming I get into the program at UDel (not saying I will, just hoping)
