Help this FIT refugee find a new school!

Hey guys, I'm in a little bit of a sticky situation.

I started attending FIT(as you may/may not know, another SUNY school) in the Fall of 2010 as a freshman, and after changing my major once, I still don't feel like I actually belong here.

Both of my majors were non-fashion related, right now I'm doing Advertising and Marketing Communications, and to be completely honest I hate it here. I'm from the suburbs outside of NYC, and I thought living here would be totally awesome. Long story short; not exactly. Everyone's mean and it's dirty and I miss grass and trees. I know I'm a little overdramatic, but after visiting my friends at Geneseo for the weekend, the difference was really night and day. I was more comfortable there in 6 hours than I've ever been in the 7 months at FIT.

This got me thinking and I was bit by the transfer bug. Pretty much, I'm just hoping for suggestions of where to look in the SUNY system where I can continue studying advertising/marketing/communications, and have more of a rich college experience. As for stats, I'm not too afraid (3.6 college GPA, dean's list, 2000 SAT score), it's more about which schools actually allow transfers, and allow them to integrate into the student body. For example I know New Paltz doesn't even offer housing to transfers, which I consider a deal-breaker. Right now I'm looking at Bing and Geneseo of course but I'm still trying to find out if they'd even accept me.

So my challenge is this: Can anyone help me find a transfer-friendly SUNY school for an Ad/Comm/Mrkting (any combo of the above) major with a great student body and on-campus living?

You should take a look at SUNY Oneonta. They have a strong Communications program, (with good internship placements) and the location might appeal to you, based on your reaction to Geneseo (though not quite as rural). Very college-town atmosphere, since Hartwick College is also nearby.

Awesome, I’ll check it out. Thanks!
