Hey Everyone!
I have recently got all of my college decisions back and I am very confused now. I have gained acceptance into UCLA and according to last year's cut off I will also be able to make it into top DU colleges such as LSR and St. Stephens. I want to study Economics and will go for a masters degree after my undergrad. Plus, I want to work in India only. Please suggest what is the best uni for me. Should I go to UCLA or LSR/St.Stephens? Please help me people. I am EXTREMELY confused. :s

Please help me people! I am VERY CONFUSED. Please!

Very different experiences. At UCLA you will be required to make the structure for yourself, at LSR the structure will be thrust on you, I suspect.

The other parameter is cost.

Cost is not a factor for me. I can afford UCLA. But which one do you think will give me better opportunities?

Please, please, please help me people! Please I am VERY confused. :’(

Based on solely the experience, I think it’s UCLA hands down. It’s basically your choice, more or less, but I suggest you attend UCLA because it will offer better opportunities and living in LA is just an added bonus.
It’s still your decision, so think about it.

hmm… anyone else?

If you live up to your promise to do grad studies, then doing it outside India (not necessarily in the US) will get you the best of all experiences. If you do your undergrad in UCLA you will almost surely not doing grad studies in India.

Doing undergrad in India has its pluses, especially if you are in a top college to get into like LSR. I understand DU has recently made extensive changes to the curriculum so that is another plus. Enjoy the next 3 years!

anyone else?

Since cost is not a factor, I’d suggest UCLA though not sure if LSR degree would be considered better by employers. You have to keep in mind that you would be paying a lot more if you attend UCLA , whereas you could get the same opportunities from an undergrad from LSR. If you attend grad school then there is no problem but I feel that a degree from UCLA would be recognised worldwide. UCLA is a good college and will be great for your overall development. Both colleges will give you good opportunities.

I’m not sure about this but attending UCLA might also increase your chances of getting into a good Grad School than LSR would.
