I, like some of you, applied ED to Cal Poly. I submitted my application by the deadline, whilst at the same time i took the ACT this October. I didn’t get my ACT scores until today, and because of this I submitted my previous ACT score along with my application. the only problem is that my ACT score in October is higher- actually ridiculously higher than my previous. My question is is there any possible way to edit my application or to contact them and give them this information?

Of course! thats awesome for you. i think you have two options. first, you can call the cal poly admissions office (they are very nice) and make a change to your application. That way when they consider you, you know for a fact they are looking at the higher ACT score. If you don’t want to do it that way, you can just send them your new score (in an official act score report) or do both! You definitely have the option to do either until the 15th though! :)

Thank you very much! if i am doing everything right, it says it will cost $10 just to send it! D: Should i expect something similar to happen if i call up their admissions office?

admission decisions come out in a few weeks though, so i would call and tell them (verbally) your new scores, and also send the new ones as well. so your time line would be:

send ACT scores through ACT site.

call cal poly and notify them of your new scores.

have them change the scores that they see when they look at your application so they see those when they look at your early decision application.

since you got better scores on a later test date, the school might (not sure at all) postpone looking at your application and deny you admission for early decision. I just want to let you know that if your application gets postponed until regular decision, don’t be discouraged. they just might want to look at your new ACT scores :)
