Help...where to go?

I am looking to apply to these schools:

U of W
Whitman
Whitworth
University of Puget Sound
Pacific Lutheran University
U of O Honors
USC
College of William and Mary

I was wondering what colleges offer solid Writing/English programs, as well as Biology. I'm going to do Pre-med studies, but am looking to minor (or major, IDK) in Writing/English...

I hear U of Iowa has unbelievable writing programs, well at least for graduate level studies--not sure about undergrad, and how strong sciences are...?

Does anyone know of a college strong--with good teachers--in the sciences and english? I know it's quite a broad spectrum..........

Thanks, look forward to hearing posts! Help me, please!

Perhaps Colorado College? Pretty solid in every regard. Where do you want to be in the country? Middlebury has amazing English, and a really solid science department that attracts less attention.

Also:
Grinnell
Kalamazoo

I think UPS and Whitman are great choices.

As an Oregonian, you've probably already looked at Reed (although I'm biased, as you can see) and decided it wasn't for you. Nevertheless, it has one of the best biology programs in the country, but probably attracts more English oriented students, and has great teachers all around.

It's hard to know without knowing more about your qualifications, interests, and how far you're willing to go from Oregon, but a few of other possibilities might include:

Middlebury
Kenyon
Washington Univ (St. Louis)
Hamilton

Holy Cross, Colgate, Bowdoin.

Hamilton, Holy Cross, Bowdoin, Bates

Whitman is one of the top LAC's on the west coast (a western Ivy). Wonderfully happy students, great faculty, highly respected. Do give it a good look.

Look at:

Colby College
Cornell University
Duke University
Harvard College
Johns Hopkins University
Pomona College
Rice University
