I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, but hopefully I can get an answer

My father is currently divorced from my mother, and he does not live around my current location. He is supposed to pay for child support, but never does. We have taken him to court a few times, yet he still gets away with paying little. He is also supposed to pay for half of my college expenses. What can I do to assure he follows through with this? Thank you for your help.

Since the obligation is in the divorce decree, I’d guess that the only way of enforcing it would be for a court to order that his wages are garnished, and that’s going to involve a lawyer. (And won’t be of much use if he doesn’t have wages.)

To protect yourself, make sure you apply to some colleges that are FAFSA-only schools, including at least a couple that you are sure your family can afford. If you haven’t already had the conversation with your mom about how much your mom might be able to help you with college costs, you need to do that.
