Concerns: Is SAT reading too low especially for Medill? Or can the relevant and great ECs overlook that along with no Bs in 12 AP classes and a near perfect score in writing because after all Medill is a journalism school?
I’m a sophomore but those are my sats after taking it 3 times… If NU superscores is there really harm in taking them again??
Also, i could always take the new sat because the current sophomores are the only ones that can submit either one. But I don’t know how that would work because then technically I would have taken the sats like 6 or 7 times, half in one format half in another. I’ve been working my whole life for Medilll and I would hate for something stupid like taking the sats that many times would get me rejected. But I don’t know if I decided to go with the new version if they would even see my old. I’m freaking out and I won’t be able to take this until December of 2016 when I would find out
Chance me with advice
THANKS

Step 1 - Relax
Step 2 - Call AdCom / admittance office and ask your questions about testing.
Step 3 - Stop with Chance Threads because only AdCom can give you a correct answer.

BTW - I think you are a superstar and a shoe-in- but I’m not an adcom… But I am a parent of 2 NU kids, so I wish you good luck!

Stats look amazing as I’m sure your aware, with your only minor problem being the SAT. I DON’T think your school will hurt your admissions at all ED as NU is fairly holistic in there admission and they’re not going to drive you crazy over one test score given everything else is amazing. If your still worried about it and since you have another year, you could try to take prep class for the SAT and retest at the beginning of the school year which could help. You’d also be surprised how much a few more months of school can help improve your score also (remember these tests are normed so if you take it senior year with more knowledge it works really well in your favor). Alternatively, you may want to take the ACT once and see how you do, though the science portion can be a headache if your used to the SAT (plus there’s two english sections).

Since you have the time I’d try to improve your test score, but really you have close to a perfect application so I wouldn’t worry to much. Nice job-- good luck!

I’m confused - you say you are a sophomore so you can take the SAT many more times, but you have ECs for Junior and Senior year, and you have already taken 12 APs, written your essay and gotten recommendations? How is that possible?

I had the same confusion
