I prefer cities (pretty important), east or west coast (important-ish), liberal political vibe (very important), weather isn’t important.
I hope I didn’t forget anything! Also, it would be super helpful if you could rank schools safety/possible/reach.
Note: This assumes higher test scores given your ACT practice (34+, or SAT equivalent)
Boston University, Northeastern, and Tufts are good schools to look into around the match / reach line in Boston. There are MIT and Harvard as super reaches too.
If money isn’t an issue, NYU of course.
Drexel in Philly may be a good safety type school, and Case Western (Cincinnati) would be on the border of safety and match.
Georgetown, GWU, and American and are good options in DC as reach, match, and near safety respectively.
UCLA or UCB are somewhat near/in cities respectively (LA has more of a sprawling suburb vibe) - both reaches though.
The University of Washington would be a good option in Seattle. Check statistics by major to determine if it’s a safety/match/reach. Likely a match.
Northeastern and Drexel are both co-op schools, so look into co-op programs to decide if you would be interested in those.
UCBerkeley is a dream school for chemistry. Chemistry is not just a department in the college of arts and sciences, it’s its own college within the university. Plus you’re in state.
UCSD - San Diego may work
