Help with csu which one should I chose?

Hello all, I recently got admitted by csudh, and cal poly pomona, and waitlisted by csulb for Business admin-computer info systems. I am waiting on csun now. Which school is more reputable for future jobs? Which school has the better name? Which school has the better learning experience?

I live in the bay, but I want to live in LA. Commuting is not a problem for me, but I want to make the right choice. Thanks!

LB is known to keep wait-listed kids hanging well into the summer. Long after deposits for housing, etc are due elsewhere.

academically, they are all fine. DH has a slightly lighter reputation than the others you list.

spend some time on all of the campuses that admitted you, talk to some students, I bet one of them speaks to you more than the others.

Follow your gut, knowing that there’s no bad choice here.

thank you for the answer! I was looking around and noticed than cal poly pomona seems to give students a better chance at getting jobs quickly after they are done. Would you say it is (reputation wise) better than Northridge, csula, and DH?

Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) is a better choice school. It is ranked higher than the other schools listed. You can look at all the schools here and see what the outcome is for each: https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/

I look at our CSU system as SLO, POMONA, SDSU as the top three state schools. They ask for the highest GPA’s and Test scores.

In the abstract, CPP, LB are about equal - and a slight step down to CSUN.

As i noted above i think DH’s reputation is not as strong as the others you list (that’s probably true for LA too) but, not so much that you should avoid the place if its the campus that works for you.

For biz programs, just about any CSU will do the trick. As a student, you need to get internships, and/or experience that will get you connected with the local biz community and set you apart as a graduate,

I kinda have a chip on my shoulder about wait lists (great for the school, bad for the students) so, I’d just drop LB - but that’s my bias, not yours. If you choose to take the waitlist spot, you need to commit elsewhere so you have a seat at another school in the Fall.

I can’t emphasize this enough - All of the schools you list have a very high commuter quotient. You need to spend some time on each campus - talk to some existing students, grab a meal and get a feel for what the place is like on a regular school day. Virtual tours and internet boards are marketing fluff.

The only wrong choice here is one you chose based on a mis-impression or for the wrong reason.
