Have you contacted your TA for help? They won’t give you the answer, but they will help you find your own answer.

Also math tutors are available at CAS (Center for Academic Support). Just call and schedule an appointment. They will probably see you today.

I’m not sure if MTH 165 has a designated email support TA (like MTH 161-164 all do), but your section TA will respond to an email query within 24 hours. (And I KNOW this because D2 has TAed this class for 3 years now and responding to student emails is part of the job description.)

And, of course, if all else fails, you can try googling for a solution.

BTW, just checked and MTH 165 DOES have an email TA (called a Web Work TA).

I didn’t see the original post but I’m in that class and if you need help go see the professor or the TAs. You can go to any of the TAs not just yours. Their office hours are listed on the Mth 165 website. I don’t know which lecture you’re in but Herman seems pretty approachable. There is also math study hall from 7-9pm(I think) on the 9th floor of Hylan. I’d verify that just to make sure since I haven’t been yet.

WOWM is right about the webwork TA and also my TA said he gets a copy of all our webwork questions emailed as well.

Also, if you are trying to find Internet help you should look for differential equations help not linear algebra. So far what we’ve covered is straight basic differential equations. We’ll get into the linear algebra side of things in a little while.

Btw, i just realized OP must’ve posted on Fri afternoon. Herman made a point of saying if you wait til Friday afternoon to email the webwork TA you probably won’t get a response by the Saturday 6am deadline.

LOL! That’s because WebWork TAs have a life too! D2 was a WW TA for Calc 2 for a semester and EVERYONE emailed homework questions at the very last minute. The system takes a while to forward your email to the TA and to send the TA’s response back. And sometimes the system goes down under the flood of procrastinators. And occasionally email goes astray since it gets redirected twice both in sending and responding.

Perhaps the more interesting point for any high school student or parent reading this is that UR has a system for TA’s that enforces responses to students.

It’s also good to repeat: you can go to any TA. Your friends know the best TA’s. Use them.
