Ok, so to be completely honest, I'm not sure how people pick the people who write their recommendations for college. Could you guys help me? (I need two.)

Please tell me how you guys picked who would write your recs too. =]

Debate teacher- Doesn't know me terribly well (but well enough and has dealt with many of the same medical issues I have) but this was by far my favorite class and taught me the most.

Spanish teacher- Worked really hard in class. She knows me very well and has recommended me for a number of programs. She likes me a lot. However, she doesn't know much about my past struggles, only how involved I am in charities and projects.

Calculus teacher- I did terrible in this class, but I worked my arse off. I ended up getting a D+ and C- but I worked very, very hard. My teacher knows how much I struggled, but she can be hot and cold. Sometimes she cares about how my illnesses have affected me and sometimes she doesn't care. It's hard to know.

World history teacher- I want to go into world history. The teacher's alma mater is my top choice school. But she's kind of aloof and doesn't know very much about my life outside school. She likes me a lot though and knows enough about my home life to be helpful.

History teacher for senior project- Has known me the longest and knows about most of my problems from the present and past. However, other than being my senior project adviser, he has never actually taught me in a class.

So how do I pick which ones to ask? I honestly don't know how to pick. Please share your stories on how you picked as well. Thanks!!
