HELP WITH SAT VOCAB (PLEASE ENTER)

I get about 4 wrong on the whole CR portion from vocabulary. How do I fix this? Yes, the obvious answer is "study vocab" but I've read time and time again that vocab study from just lists of words is futile and un-indicative of your actual performance on the vocab portion. So please, what should I do? I'm not getting a major amount wrong on each section for vocab but it is a problem when I get 4 wrong from vocab alone on the whole CR portion of the test.

Before, I was in the exact same situation as you were, but now I reduced the number of wrong on SC’s to 1 or 0.

Here’s a tip: knowing the words is one thing, but understanding the context of the sentence is another thing. It’s no use knowing about 3,500 vocab words when you don’t understand how to use them. You have to understand how the sentence flows. Maybe the sentence is a cause-and-effect, maybe the sentence requires two words with opposite connotations. I barely knew 800 words, yet by understanding the context of the sentence and using my knowledge of prefixes, roots, suffixes, and word connotation and feeling, I was able to almost-ace the SC’s.
