I know that most colleges want two recommendations from teachers and I am having trouble deciding them.

One is my foreign language teacher whom I have had for all years and gotten to know very well. So he is out of the question.

I have two options for the other one:

My AP English teacher for junior year. I know him a lot better and he tells me that I stood out as one of the best students he has had. Also, he's really eloquent and someone who he wrote a recommendation for (for a summer program) showed me the recommendation and it's really good.

My AP Chem and Honors Chem teacher for sophomore, junior year. I don't know her as well as I could have, but she has written me a recommendation before. I also did academically well for both years in her class and got a 5 on the AP and such.

I asked several people for advice and most suggested the Chem teacher since I was applying to a lot of engineering schools.
Also, I feel I am a lot weaker as an engineering applicant (not as many extracurriculars, awards) than I am at anything else (i.e. English or History). Engineering is what I want to do though, and I don't know if this disconnect between my career interest and resume will help.

Any advice would help. Thanks.
