Does anyone know anything about this? I looked under my financial aid and saw I got this. It says Hrs/herbert presidential. Does it come from Hutton or somewhere else?
Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars Program
The Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars Program recognizes a select number of Indiana resident students who are the top achievers of the incoming freshman class. Recipients are selected by a committee representing the Office of the President.
Award amount:
The award includes a scholarship, a laptop computer stipend, and funding for a study abroad program.
Eligibility requirements:
Eligibility is based upon nomination. Preference is given to students who have applied for admission to IU by the November 1 scholarship deadline
My daughter is a Herbert Scholar. It is always paired with the Provost award as a condition of being considered. There are a couple of nice events: a welcome reception on fall move in day and an induction ceremony in January. Scholars are invited to luncheons to meet faculty, President Herbert, and new prospective scholars. A medal is sent to your home and can be given to the high school to be awarded on senior honors night. Scholars will get a laptop (choose Mac or HP). It is part of the Honors College. Students can receive more than one HC scholarship. It’s not a huge monetary award but has nice perks.
