Yeah these people all have current knowledge of me. Every single one of them. And I have worked with the doctor.

I'm not asking you guys to pick apart my stats okay. I'm not listening. I'm asking for what my current stats will get me if I continue on the same track.

My impression of you from the numerous posts you have placed in various threads is that you are frantic, obsessive and not well-rounded. I would recommend chilling a little. Do some things that you enjoy instead of focusing entirely on what college will accept you two years from now. Sorry-I call it as I see it.

It's more satisfying to provide suggestions and offer experience-based wisdom to those who are interested in listening. Several people have made very helpful posts, including suggesting that on the current track, your ECs and recommendations would not likely be helpful in your stated goals. I would suggest rereading these posts and losing some of the attitude.

TexasMathWhiz:
That last post of yours borders on being offensive. As I recall, you came to this forum asking for advice from parents. If you don't like the advice you're getting, don't ask for it in the future.
People here have spent time and effort to give you well-reasoned suggestions as to what you can do. If your sole response is "I'm not listening", don't waste our time.

[/quote]
Texasmathwhiz - I haven't seen a single poster "pick apart your stats." What I have seen are folks providing you numerous ideas on how to get where you want to go. If you're not listening , I don't know why any of us should bother.

And you might want to consider, as you park your attitude outside the door, that many of the parents here are very much like the adcoms you will be facing (some may even be the adcoms).

(If you will all just click on the op's name and then "other posts" and read some his other threads, especially his "168 as a soph" post PSAT thread, you will realize you have come to a very reasonable assessment of your situation.)

What your current stats will get you: look at the list of "less selective but very good pre-med programs" I posted above. The "very selective" schools are reaches at this point, without knowing your junior year grades AND SAT scores.

Again, buy a copy of the Fiske Guide - available at any bookstore and start reading the college descriptions. There are many, many great schools that will help you achieve your goals --- don't fall in love with any particular school or any group of schools at this point, just start thinking about what you really want in terms of size, location, etc.

Finally, remember that a huge part of success IS learning to accept advice and, yes, criticism from others. Best of luck to you.

Very obvious, but my point in telling you to reconsider those recommendations is that any experienced admissions officer is going to laugh at you if they end up with a pile of recommendations in front of them, all of which are completely undesired and useless. Recommendations from the principal of an elementary school and a your grandfather are going to get you something from the admissions committee, alright- but probably a hearty guffaw rather than an acceptance letter.

N.B. You would do well to show a little more respect and gratitude to the parents on this board who have been nothing but kind and helpful to you. I'm not a parent, but I do realize that they're taking the time to make valid suggestions for you, and you're doing nothing but being rude. No one here has "picked apart your stats". On the contrary, everyone is simply giving you sound advice that you ought to be grateful for.

Now you're taking one line of an entire paragraph I wrote totally out of context and having a fit over it.

I asked what colleges I'm headed for, not how to improve. I didn't mean for this to go so far and Caroline or whatever the name is, that's the only poster who gave me what I wanted.

Texaswhizzer, or whatever your name is, why don't you take a break from CC for a year or so, and spare the Ivy boards from helping you figure out what sport you can start that will help you get into Cornell, whether you have blown your chances at Penn etc. etc. Mature for a year and maybe you can get some useful advice.

Alright, I think I might be leaving this thread, but not CC. I don't care if any of you would want me as a doctor or what you think of me. You're never going to have me as a doctor anyway unless you happen to go to the one hospital I end up working at out of the thousands out there and have a problem related to the field I'm in.

I thought I'd find more maturity and help in the parent forums but I guess not. Goodbye.

Just one last thing I forgot to add. You actually went and looked up my other posts and cited them here. Unbelievable. Some of you have already been through college or decided you can't hack it. Why are you on here? If you're kids are old enough to apply to college they can do this themselves.
