Here's my story, help me out please.

I am a junior in highschool, recently diagnosed with a learning dissability. I was diagnosed with Non-Verbal Learning Disorder. If you would like to read about what it really means, as it has a decieving title, read this article: [url=&lt;a href=“Web Page Under Construction”&gt;http://www.nldontheweb.org/]Home[/url</a>]

Although I am a very mild case of NLD, it still effects me in a lot of ways. I have to take my tests verbally. I do quite well with this. But unfortunatley, I was only tested for this after my APUSH teacher noticed that something was off when I could rebuttle an entire chapter verbally, but I would get a 10 on a test. This has resulted in some mediocre grades. I have a cumulative GPA of a 3.2, it isn’t horrendous but I’m capable of much better. I can’t do any type of theoretical math.

So, what does this qualify me as? Remedial? ‘Special-Ed’? What do I do about college?

Honestly it may be a bit tough for you if you are aiming for schools like Harvard or Yale. But in the same token if you go to a more rigorous school, that is an unweighted G.P.A and you were dealing with this disability, then your G.P.A isn’t really that bad. You can disclose this info in your common app in your additional information section and consider writing an essay on how this has affected you.

Another very important thing to consider is your standardized test scores. When you register for your ACT and/or SAT make sure you request extra time or some sort accommodations for your learning disability.

By the way, if you are currently a rising junior or have already started school and are in the first term of your junior year, you still have a bit of time to bring up your grades.
