I plan to major in environmental studies.
The schools im interested in are:
-UCI
-UCLA
-UCD
-UCB
-UCSC

-UCSD
-NYU
-Carnegie Mellon
-Syracuse
-Columbia (yes I know im crazy)
-Harvard (insane, I know)

Be aware that NYU and BU are not particularly good with need-based financial aid, although they do have merit scholarships (BU blends in merit money with need-based financial aid). You can check their net price calculators and those of other schools.

The following is assuming that you get an SAT score like your practice score… you may also want to take both the SAT and ACT this spring and retake the initially higher one in the fall if you are not satisfied with them. But actual reach/match/safety assessment can only be done with actual SAT or ACT scores.

If you want more safeties, you may want to add more UCs and CSUs to your list. UCs’ holistic reviews make it hard to make any individual campus a safety, but applying to several of the less selective ones (UCM, UCR, UCSC, etc.) make it less likely to get into none of them. It is very unlikely that you get rejected from CSUs other than CPSLO and possibly a few of the other most selective ones, but since they do not publish the thresholds in advance, you cannot be 100% sure except at the non-impacted ones (but if your UC/CSU GPA is 4.0, you are in if you apply to a non-impacted major at a non-impacted CSU (e.g. environmental science/studies at CSUMB and CSUEB; see http://www.calstate.edu/sas/impactioninfo.shtml ), no test score needed in this case).

Alternatively (when you have your test scores), you can see if an automatic full ride merit scholarship in this thread is at a school you like:

Thank you sososo much! I really appreciate the help
